We're pleased to have been featured in North Wales Live this week. The article reads:
A caravan sales expert who ran holiday parks and worked for giants like Haven set up his own caravan sales firm to help buyers and sellers. Mark Roberts, who has over 30 years experience in the caravan and lodge industry, saw first hand how people could lose out when it came to trading vans.
This saw him launch Leisure Estate Agents five years ago. Despite the pandemic and cost of living crisis the business has survived and thrived - with two offices in North Wales and clients right across the UK.
Mark said 'I have seen first-hand how much money people can lose on caravans and lodges in a very short space of time, also the circumstances surrounding their need to leave a park can sometimes be heart breaking. Sadly, owners don't have the same experience when they want to leave their park as they do when they join them, and I wanted to change that.
'After selling holiday homes and lodges in the UK and Marbella, I identified there was a huge problem with how private sales were handled on parks and equally how the sellers were treated, regardless of the circumstances that lead them to sell.'
Mark set out to help these people initially by holding private sale open days whilst working as sales manager for a national holiday park company. After assisting with multiple private sales of caravans and lodges, Mark realised that it wasn't just the owners at that park that were in need of help, and that there were thousands across the UK who were unable to navigate the stresses of selling privately.
He said a neutral party did not exist to facilitate a fair and stress free sales process for private sellers and buyers alike. That's when he decided it was time to create it himself.
Originally based in Conwy, Caravan Estate Agent was instantly in demand as owners turned to them for help through the maze of private selling. After expansion they rebranded as Leisure Estate Agents as the demand from private sellers had evolved and now included lodge owners, m
Leisure Estate Agents now operates two branches, one in Holywell as well as a marketing suite in the centre of Caernarfon, with six employees working on business developments, social media, marketing and customer care. In January 2023, they launched a brand new website with a sophisticated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) that creates more opportunities for customers to sell.
Mark said: '2023 is already producing some amazing results for our customers. 'The interest surrounding holiday home ownership is still at a high, and we can offer the opportunity to own to more people, as private sale holiday homes are often a fraction of the price of holiday homes on parks.
'Our core business model is still at the forefront of what we do. We can give friendly, honest and informal advice on site fees, licence length and anything else from an un-biased third-party perspective. We know almost all holiday parks in the UK and how each of them operate, that can give a lot of confidence to those eager to buy but unsure where to turn for genuine advice.
'Over the last five-years we've spoken to thousands of holiday home owners and have taken into consideration what they feel is missing from the industry and we're always looking for ways to provide that. That's why we now have a number of services they can access based on what they really want. It's been an incredible five years and we can't wait to see what the next five hold. With our new franchise opportunities in place, we're now on the look out for industry professionals with the same values as us to help us reach even more holiday home owners in need.'
